Counseling for Individuals and Couples who identify as High-Achieving Professionals, LGBTQ, or Neurodivergent – Virtually across Illinois and In-Person in Champaign-Urbana
Counseling for Individuals and Couples Reaching Toward Their Desired Future
An affirming space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with your values, goals, and purpose.
Values misalignment, perfectionism, and the constant pressure to perform can lead to burnout, imposter syndrome, and strained relationships. I work with a select number of individuals and couples to help them slow down, quiet the inner critic, and reconnect with their senses and inner wisdom. Together, we’ll clarify the future you desire and create a path toward a sustainable, values-aligned life—one that feels both meaningful and manageable.

I create a safe, empowering space to explore the patterns and beliefs that limit your ability to connect with yourself and others. Clients often experience growth as they:
Recognize and quiet negative self-talk while cultivating self-compassion and self-awareness
Identify and align with personal and professional values
Incorporate creative expression, curiosity, and futures thinking to inform strategies and pathways toward desired outcomes
Reduce stress and emotional overload for improved clarity, decision-making, and relationships
Develop sustainable, strengths-based strategies to meet their needs and feel confident in their relationships
Build stronger relationships and greater confidence in expressing their needs and authentic self
Understand the systems they’re embedded in and how those intersect with their lived experiences

I use an integrative blend of psychodynamic, existential-humanistic, and relational therapy approaches to support each client’s or couple’s goals—whether addressing deep-rooted wounds, navigating life or career transitions, fostering personal growth, or developing practical strategies to enhance communication, intimacy, and resilience. I draw from less pathologizing, evidence-informed modalities including:
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Narrative Therapy
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
Harm Reduction
Motivational Interviewing
At the core of my work is a strengths-based and values-based approach. The work here is relational, grounded in presence, meaning, and connection. My approach is neurodivergent- and LGBTQ+ affirming, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented, especially suited for action-oriented, values-driven individuals who want to focus on the present and future while honoring and learning from past experiences.

Health Insurance:
I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois.
For all other insurance plans, I am considered out-of-network. If your plan offers out-of-network benefits, I can submit claims to your insurance company on your behalf. Depending on your plan, reimbursement may be sent directly to you or to me. If you share your insurance details, I can help you estimate what your cost per session may be.
Self-Pay for Clients:
Various reasons why clients may be motivated to pay out-of-pocket instead of using insurance:
No third-party involvement in your care decisions
No time pressures or session limits
No diagnostic or “medical necessity” requirements
No personal information or history shared with insurance databases
Below are my rates as of January 2026:
Individual Intake/Evaluation (60 - 75 minutes): $225
Individual Sessions (53 - 60 minutes): $200
Couples Intake/Evaluation (60 - 75 minutes): $250
Couples Sessions (60 - 75 minutes): $225
Sliding Fee Scale:
A request for reduced cost services may be made if you are without insurance and/or experiencing financial hardship.
**Fees and practice policies are subject to annual review and change over time.

If you prefer to keep your mental health journey completely private, self-pay offers greater control and confidentiality than using insurance. Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis and ongoing justification for care, which can become part of your permanent health record.
For people in professions that require background checks or security clearances—such as medicine, aviation, technology, or finance—self-pay ensures your information remains entirely private and confidential, free from insurance oversight or data sharing.
“My approach to counseling isn’t about “fixing” you or centering pathology—it’s about unlocking the freedom to choose what you really want out of life with clarity, confidence, and a sense of purpose.”

Andi Phillips, MSW, LCSW, BCD
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Andi is an advanced licensed clinical social worker with over a decade of experience supporting individuals and couples navigating life transitions, identity exploration, relationship challenges, and high-stress careers. She works with a limited number of clients, providing a safe, private space where intersectionality is recognized, lived experience is honored, and desired futures are clarified and felt.
Her approach is informed not only by her clinical expertise but also by her own lived experiences and personal journey in healing and post-traumatic growth. As a self-identifying queer, neurodivergent, high-achieving professional, Andi understands what it’s like to navigate systems that don’t always accommodate diverse ways of thinking and being. She knows how values like excellence, justice, and integrity can create patterns of overwork, chronic stress, and strained relationships, and how internalized critiques can make it difficult to show up authentically in work and life.
These insights allow her to bring clients compassion, clarity, and a grounded perspective, helping them align with their values and live in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.
